Santa’s owner was a Jordanian man who had spent some years living in America. In 1990 he moved to Burnley and decided to set up a Pizza takeaway. He intended to call the business ‘Pizza Centre’ and ordered a large exterior shop sign.
When it arrived he was left stunned, there before him was a laughing Santa sitting proudly on a sign reading ‘Pizza Santa’. As you can imagine there was a a lot of arguing and swearing, nevertheless the shop was begrudgingly named ‘Pizza Santa’.
(Try it in an American accent it’s a mistake easily made).
Due to commitment and hard work in 1995 Santa’s became one of the first outlets in the UK to gain the right to display the Pizza & Pasta Associations ‘Symbol of Excellence’. This was prior to the achievement of 1994, when the European Food and Drink Association awarded Santa’s as one of their ‘Top UK Takeaways’. Most recently, Santa’s was a finalist in the national award for the Pizza & Pasta Independent UK Takeaway and Home Delivery operator of the year 2001.
For a revolutionary concept, the formula is simple: to make truly delicious food using the highest quality ingredients, and to deliver and present them in our own style.
Santa’s caters not only for the local residents, but also through home delivery to the wider surrounding areas. With the latest equipment, dough is freshly made everyday, ingredients are of the highest quality, pizzas are cooked on conveyor ovens, and the whole customer ordering process encompasses technology at its best.
